Blubmas Day 14
Hello!
Is anyone else having a hard time finding a decent Christmas movie or show to watch?
Usually, between YouTube and the streaming services, we can scrounge up Christmas movies that we like. But this year it has been almost impossible.
Many of the classic cartoons have been taken down from YouTube. How Scroogey. I don’t understand how some of these older films are not in the public domain.
In some countries, treasured cartoons are available on official government YouTube accounts. They are a part of national pride and identity. Society wants to pass these onto the next generation.
It makes me so sad that now in America, where we no longer have publicly available free broadcast TV, poor children will not be able to grow up with these shows. Nor newcomers to America, who might see them and think, “So this is what Americans watched when they were little. America can be a warm and friendly place too.” Nor children whose parents lack the imperative to purchase these shows for them.
What will happen? Let’s not throw a generation to the AI wolves!!!
Save historical media!
On a happier note, I have a beautiful panettone cake waiting for me in the morning.
Merry Christmas!
