Blubmas Day 1

Hello!

Welcome to my Blubmas!

Let’s hang out for a little bit each day leading up to Christmas.

I wanted to talk about how sometimes you have to force yourself into your desired mood. One way you can help yourself into your desired mood is by checking off all the boxes. For example, for Christmas, you can:

Eat a Christmas cookie

Put on a Christmas movie
Put on Christmas music

Sometimes the vibes don’t come on their own and we have put some effort into nourishing them. Sometimes we need to force good vibes to help ourselves. Like a car stuck in the mud that just needs a little push.

Today a part of me wanted to do cheerful Christmas things. And I had to choose to ignore things like the drones outside. Now they fly during the day too. There is no break. 24/7. Where I am in New Jersey, you just hear this horrible hum.

It bothers me that my cat has to hear this when she takes a nap. I think of babies, newborn babies, that have to spend the first times of their life listening to this horrible noise. Maybe I will put up soundproofing curtains and other soundproofing apparatuses.

It’s unbelievable. If I keep thinking about it, I’ll go insane. But I notice literally every drone that flies by (I can’t ignore the noise like I can with normal ambient noise like kids playing, birds chirping, sirens sounding, cars honking, or even normal airplanes flying).

The solution is to force myself to put my mind back to fun and cheerful things in the present with my family. I’m not ignoring things, I can’t ignore things, but if I don’t rest, I’ll be of no good to anybody.

So that is why I think forcing yourself a little, creating a good environment, and helping things along are good ideas. It’s not being disingenuous. Sometimes we are just too whacked out and need a push. Or the mood doesn’t flow organically or how we imagine it will.

Thanks for spending time with me!

Merry Christmas,

Asya
