Journal 97 St. Valentine’s, Clothing, Food

Hi girls!

I’m so sorry we did not have a St. Valentine’s Party!

A really frustrating thing happened. A lot of my wardrobe and my partner’s wardrobe was damaged. It felt like a big hit. You girls know how hard it is for me to buy clothes. I also take super crazy good care of them. They have been going for years due to my mindful care and it was very hard to see them all messed up. They were nothing fancy, but they were our essentials like cotton t-shirts. I will keep them as spare work clothes.

So now I need to shop for new clothes, which is impossible these days. Everything has gotten so expensive. Natural materials are hard to find. Everything is plastic. Increasingly, it is recycled plastic. I wouldn’t mind having that on a rain jacket, but not intimates! And if you have any curves or musculature, it is impossible to find anything that fits nicely.

I want to comment on the new food guidelines in America. While overall I am happy about the emphasis on real food, not processed food, I think the recommendation for grains is too low. I think an equal portion of carbs, produce, and protein for the main meal is the way to go. Quality bread is extremely healthy and I don’t like this trend against bread.

Also on the food front, I think America should go the way of the EU and ban mislabeling of non-animal products as animal products. Milk can only come from teats. The other stuff squeezed out of produce and nuts is juice. Soy juice, oat juice, cashew juice, etc.

Although the new food guidelines were released, realizing consumption of natural food is getting harder here in America.  Food has become astronomically expensive. We got by because we prioritized the food budget over everything else, but we have gotten to the point where we only buy baseline necessities. Forget fish! Last time we had fish was months ago. It was thirty dollars for two pieces of sea bass caught in clean waters. We were so excited to taste it that we cooked it without even salt.

The other issue we are having is that we are increasingly getting defective products. I have never experienced getting so many defects in food products. Nearly every shopping trip we get something bad. Even the safety is compromised. Teabags stick out of the packages, jars are improperly sealed, the inside of lids is rusty, and more strange things. Produce sometimes has creepy problems, such as colorful veining, strange textures, and molds I have never seen before. Before, if you got a bad fruit, you could tell it was just a bad fruit, but now you wonder, “What is this?” But the produce is not just an American problem, it is a message from the planet...

Another issue is that good quality food brands get bought out by evil corps, who gradually degrade the quality, so you constantly have to stay on top of everything! We are currently on the lookout for a new egg company. You also have to stay on top of the labeling to make sure it is still a good country of origin, and that the ingredients did not get worse. It’s too much work for buying food!

Thank you for reading. I do not mean to be a negative Nellie, but I think that it can be comforting and help one’s sanity to know that other people out there are having the same problems.

I also feel that it’s important for the sake of younger generations to point out when the quality of life decreases or when freedom is at risk. For my whole life, up until now, jars from the grocery store were always properly sealed! What is this, ancient lost technology now? Nobody remembers how to seal jars?! Hahaha...

Although we didn’t have a St. Valentine’s party, I want to say that I appreciate your readership so much. I hope you get anything out of my website, and that it is remotely interesting. Thank you so very much!

Please have a lovely week ahead!
