Journal 86 Nuts, Pork Chops, Thanksgiving Menu
Hello there!
How was your week? Mine was okay. But towards the end it was a little tough.
I was really out of it... I was really losing it... I loaded the washing machine but forgot to turn it on. Not only that... but the next day... I took the dirty clothes and put them into the dryer...
So if you have been losing it, don’t worry, we can be nuts together hahaha!
My nerves were soothed tonight by a comforting tasty meal: pork chops with apples. It’s a meal from the Andy Griffith Show! I don’t know why we didn’t start making Andy recipes sooner. My partner Italianified it, but stopped short of adding capers. It was ridiculously good!
Thanksgiving plans are underway and going well. We put together a nice menu:
Thanksgiving
Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed sweet potatoes
Caramelized onions
Glazed carrots
Broccoli rabe
Cranberry sauce
Pumpkin pie
Chocolate cream pie
Apple pie
I have really been liking Thanksgiving. It’s a nice holiday.
This year we ordered a turkey early and they still had many sizes available. We ordered a large! It will be cooked plain. Last year, it was so much fun placing the whole finished turkey in front of my cat and watching her eat. And the plain turkey meat was extremely versatile. Maybe the best turkey leftovers we ever had! Soup, sandwiches, so many uses.
Thank you for reading.
Please have a wonderful week. If you are preparing for Thanksgiving I hope everything works out perfectly for you!
