Journal 82 Andy Griffith, Elections, Halloween
Hey girls. How was your week? Have you been doing any fun autumn things? Are you getting ready for the colder weather?
My week started out stressful but then it mellowed out and ended on a great note. I even took some nice pictures of leaves.
Things have been tough in the news lately. This week I needed reminders of what I value about America to hold on to during these crazy times. I stayed positive. I made chocolate chip cookies. And I leaned into one of my favorite shows more than ever-- The Andy Griffith Show.
Andy is my most watched show. I watch Andy every night before bed and have it play through the night. This has been my routine for a decade. But I don’t watch any of the color seasons. I can’t say enough about this show. I don’t even know where to start. My favorite episode is season 1 episode 8, Opie’s Charity.
The New Jersey gubernatorial election is coming up. I got a mail-in ballot, but I prefer to vote in person. What if someone says something stupid at the last minute? This year it’s a tough decision. If I lived in New York City, it would be easy: I would vote for the red beret man for mayor squarely for his pro-feline stance.
This new week is Halloween, huh? This year I have been uncomfortable with all of the dark Halloween stuff. Especially the skeletons. After seeing children who look like skeletons in Gaza for the last two years, just no.
We decorated with cute Halloween and autumnal stuff. My partner’s mother has a lot of cute vintage-y decorations. We also plan on baking a sweet treat, watching Scooby-Doo, and that will be our fun intimate party.
Thank you for reading! Please have a super fun week!
