Journal 72 Cat Food Conundrum

Hello!

The weather has cooled a little. I feel more alive and “myself” but I’m still not fully back to my senses. But summer isn’t over! I plan to enjoy it more now with the doable weather.

I rag on the seniors a lot, but lately they have earned high praise for their hard work finding food for our cat. They go to multiple stores throughout New Jersey trying to find cases with good dates and batch numbers. Many people are doing the same for this food. Wild.

I feel so helpless. If one of my food products is bad, I can just eat something else. But cats are sensitive to food; I can’t just give her something totally new. I’ve resorted to giving her what I call “cereal”: a bowl filled with a meal’s worth of water with a meal’s worth of the dry version of her food. We normally only use the kibble as treats, but this is a way to turn it into a hydrating meal.

Hopefully we will figure this out. Maybe we will even research a new food. I wish I could just make her food myself, but I worry that I won’t give her all of the necessary feline nutrients.

My furball needs to eat!!!

Please have an edible week ahead.
