Journal 64 Fourth of July
🇺🇸 Fourth of July Special 🇺🇸
Hello!
Today we celebrated the Fourth of July.
I was outside all day and did three rounds of grilling. As always, we had to shake it up and cook something international. Today we made delicious Persian kebabs. That was during round two of grilling, outside in the heat, and my brain was too melted and hungry to remember to take photos, I’m sorry!
But here are some photos of some decorations:

We found OXO brand stainless steel skewers for the kebabs. They seemed to work pretty good. But we ran out and some of the kebabs were little meatloafs instead.
I planned to make an icebox cake decorated with an American flag made out of blueberries and strawberries. But there was no time, so we just threw one together.

This version was more heavy on the fruit and graham crackers, less on creamy stuff. We’ll see how it tastes tomorrow. It was very good, but I think I prefer the wetter ones.
I also tried to take photos of fireflies. When I moved to the Northeast, I couldn’t believe they were really real! Not just in movies! I couldn’t get one with its butt glowing, but here is one on a blade of grass:

Although some stressful stuff came up, and I wasn’t able to do everything how I planned, we still had a fun day.
Thank you for celebrating with me!
Please have a great weekend!
