Art Post: Thoughts On Art Versus Society

Hi there.

Know what has been on my mind? Basically, art versus society.

Up until now, I have never really posted my art anywhere or shared my characters. It was always just my own private safe little world.

I always just drew on my own. When I craved some guidance, I took classes at a cartoon art school. Being in an art classroom, surrounded by other artists, I felt “at home.”

But lately I’ve been thinking how the world doesn’t see art in the same way as artists do. For example, nudity. Like. I. Can’t. Even.

Why is there even a word for nudity? Why isn’t it just the human body by default, and then when you want to talk about a clothed person you say, “the clothed body” as the non-default weird thing?

Well, that is just some of what has been on my mind lately.
