Art Post: Practicing Drawing Fire
Hello!
Today I practiced drawing fire. I thought it would be good to do this on black paper. This was my first time using physical, not digital, black paper.
Since both the black paper and colored pencils are relatively new for me, it was hard at first. But I pushed myself through (this has been my habit with art lately) and in the end it came out better than I thought!

I know people sometimes use chemicals like rubbing alcohol to break down and blend the colors, but I want to do more research on the safety on this method before I try it. Since I don't have a dedicated space and my cat is always nearby, I don't want to expose her to whatever particles the lead breaks down into.
This was the reference image I used: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flame#/media/File:DancingFlames.jpg by Oscar. Thankfully, on this occasion, I was able to find the exact kind of photo I wanted without copyright issues.
Hope this gave you any ideas or inspiration!
