Art Post: New Used Art Book

Hello.

Fridays it is!

Now we can talk about art and kick back on the same night! For me the weekends are actually chaotic, but it’s still nice to feel the energy in a way I can.

Today I want to show you a new used book I got!

This book looks so useful! When I took night art classes, one of my teachers, who worked concurrently as a cartoonist, recommended this book. He used it for decades and still referenced it.

I think that‘s how these books are meant to be used. Nobody tells you these things, but you can’t just plow through an illustration instruction book from page one to the end, taking notes and practicing isolated parts, and become good at drawing those things when you’re done.

It takes time! You need to know what you want to draw. It’s hard to describe.

It has to come from you, other people can only help you get there. I think you kind of have to pilot yourself to where you want to go, and learn along the way. I don’t know! Haha! So that’s when these kinds of books are handy, to look something up when you need it. I hope that made any sense at all!!!

Well, I’m so excited about this book and I hope to share more books and the bookshelf soon!

Have a nice weekend!
